Itinerary

9:30am Start

Departing from your Glasgow City accommodation (or Glasgow Airport pickup) at 9:30AM, your guide will stop at a convenient location of Loch Lomond for some great photo opportunities, gift shop, toilet breaks and cafes. This location also offers boat tours (requires booking in advance) on the loch that lasts up to 1 hour. Alternatively, your guide will take you to Luss for ideal viewings of the Loch and Ben Lomond munro.

Your guide will then take you towards Rest and Be Thankful, where they will stop at a convenient spot for photo opportunities of panoramic views of some of the western highland’s beautiful scenery.

Early Afternoon

You will be driving towards Inveraray town through some more amazing scenery. Your guide will take you to the entrance of Inveraray Castle and receive a self-guided tour of the castle and/or gardens that is rich in Scottish & British history. Advanced booking is not required but there is a charge per person upon entry (£7 per adult for gardens, £14.50 per adult for gardens and castle). The castle is open Wednesdays-Sundays during 1st April to 31st October.

Alternatively, you and your group will have the opportunity to take photos and have time to explore Inveraray town. The town includes beautiful scenery of the Loch Fyne and has it’s own jail to visit, one of the finest and best preserved jail and courtroom complexes in the world. You’ll have the opportunity to stop for lunch in Inveraray town where you’ll find a selection of pubs and cafes. We’d recommend this menu at Inveraray Inn

Our next stop is E2G owner’s favourites, St Conan’s Kirk. A free admission into a delightful chapel built in the 1800s sat on the banks of Loch Awe. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the grounds and the inside of the chapel. Across the loch we’ll be able to explore the grounds of Kilchurn Castle (eventually we’ll be able to explore inside the castle and we’ll update our page when that happens!)

Late Afternoon

Our next stop will be Oban Town, where you will have the opportunity to explore the gift shops and cafes and up to McCaig’s Tower, where you’ll get some great views across Oban and it’s surroundings. If you didn’t have the opportunity to visit Inveraray Castle and you’d like to explore one of Scotland’s fantastic castles on this trip, we might be able to get you to Dunstaffnage Castle based in Oban. This castle is open daily 1st April – 30th September, and open Saturdays-Wednesdays 1st October – 31st March.

Your guide will then take you into the astonishing beauty that is Glencoe. You’ll have some opportunities for photos of these beautiful mountains and waterfalls.

Our final stop will be Falls of Falloch. Your guide will park up about 5-10 minute walk away from the waterfalls and you can follow a short flat path to reach the viewing point. Before we venture back to your pick-up point, your guide will provide an opportunity to stop off for dinner at the Real Food Cafe in Tyndrum which caters to a variety of dietary requirements.
